Ohio Farms
- Implement targeted grant programs and tax incentives for small and mid-sized family farms to help them stay competitive against large corporate farms.
- Increase funding for agricultural education programs, including vocational training in high schools and community colleges, as well as mentorship initiatives that connect young people with experienced farmers.
- Advocate for fair pricing mechanisms to stabilize income for dairy farmers and establish state-funded emergency relief funds for when market prices fall below production costs.
- Create incentives for local governments to establish and support farmers markets, food hubs, and farm-to-school programs to boost local food production and accessibility.
- Establish mental health resources and support programs tailored to the unique challenges faced by the farming community, such as farmer-specific hotlines, counseling, and peer support groups.
- Advocate for state programs that help Ohio farmers access new markets domestically and internationally, while pushing back against harmful tariffs and trade policies that hurt Ohio agriculture.
